SFO Airport Transfers Guide — Chauffeured Sedan, SUV and Sprinter Service
Everything a Silicon Valley traveler needs to book, board and land a chauffeured transfer at San Francisco International — step-by-step pickup instructions for every terminal, transparent pricing across our sedan, SUV and Sprinter fleet, wait-time rules, meet-and-greet policies and answers to the questions we hear most from first-time and frequent SFO passengers.
Operated by Black Chauffeur Limo Service, TCP #46320-B, based in Sunnyvale. Every SFO reservation is confirmed in writing with the named chauffeur, vehicle description, rate and 24-hour dispatch contact — no surge pricing, no ride-share dropoffs, no cancellations after you land.
How Your SFO Airport Pickup Works, Step by Step
SFO uses split arrivals and departures levels across four terminals. Whichever terminal your flight uses, the flow below is the same. Curbside arrivals-level pickup is included with every transfer; baggage-claim meet-and-greet is an optional $45 add-on because SFO does not allow curbside standing.
- Before you fly
Confirm the reservation with flight number, airline, terminal, passenger count, luggage count and any car-seat requests. You will receive a written confirmation with the named chauffeur, vehicle description and 24-hour dispatch contact.
- En route to SFO
Dispatch tracks your flight from pushback at the origin. Wheels-up and wheels-down notifications trigger automatic staging so the chauffeur is on-airport before you land — no need to call ahead for delays.
- After you land
For curbside pickup, proceed to the arrivals level and text the dispatch number for the assigned door letter. For meet-and-greet, walk to baggage claim; a uniformed chauffeur is waiting with a printed name card and will collect your luggage.
- International arrivals
Meet-and-greet chauffeurs stage in the International Terminal arrivals hall after customs clearance. Sixty minutes of complimentary wait time begins at actual gate arrival to cover immigration and baggage retrieval.
- Private aviation
For FBO arrivals, provide the tail number and operator. The chauffeur meets the aircraft on the ramp at Signature Aviation SFO, timed to wheels-down.
SFO Transfer Pricing — Sedan, SUV and Sprinter Rates
Point-to-point transfer rates depend on destination city and party size. Hourly rates apply the Silicon Valley five-hour minimum and are billed in 30-minute increments after that. Every quote is confirmed in writing before dispatch and includes flight tracking, water bottles and standard wait time; only tolls, meet-and-greet add-on and optional gratuity may vary.
| Vehicle | Capacity | Hourly rate | SFO transfer from | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lincoln Aviator — luxury sedan class | 1–3 passengers, 3 checked bags | $130 / hour (5-hour minimum) | From $215 to Palo Alto · From $245 to Sunnyvale | Solo executives, couples, quiet airport runs |
| Chevrolet Suburban LT SUV | 1–6 passengers, 6 checked bags | $150 / hour (5-hour minimum) | From $265 to Palo Alto · From $295 to Sunnyvale | Small families, exec teams, airport plus luggage |
| Mercedes-Benz Sprinter — up to 6 passengers | 1–6 passengers with generous luggage | $175 / hour (5-hour minimum) | From $325 to Palo Alto · From $355 to Sunnyvale | Comfort-first small groups, roomy interior |
| Mercedes-Benz Sprinter — 7 to 10 passengers | 7–10 passengers, group luggage | $200 / hour (5-hour minimum) | Quoted per group manifest | Corporate teams, wedding parties, tours |
| Mercedes-Benz Sprinter — 11 to 14 passengers | 11–14 passengers, full-group luggage | $225 / hour (5-hour minimum) | Quoted per group manifest | Large groups, conventions, offsites |
Prices shown are indicative one-way transfer starting points from SFO to the named Silicon Valley city with a standard sedan-class party (1–3 passengers, 3 checked bags) and no meet-and-greet. Exact quotes are provided at booking based on time of day, tolls, wait time and vehicle availability.
SFO Meet-and-Greet — When to Choose It and What It Costs
Curbside pickup — included
The chauffeur circles the SFO arrivals loop and pulls to the assigned door on your call or text. Best for travelers with carry-on only, frequent SFO fliers who know the layout and quick departures. Included at no extra charge with every transfer.
Baggage-claim meet-and-greet — $45
A uniformed chauffeur parks in the SFO hourly garage, walks in to baggage claim, greets you with a printed name card and carries your luggage back to the vehicle. Recommended for international arrivals, first-time SFO visitors, VIP guests, unaccompanied minors and travelers with heavy luggage. Optional add-on because SFO does not permit curbside standing.
Meet-and-greet at San José Mineta International (SJC) is provided at no additional charge because the airport permits short curbside waits. Meet-and-greet at Oakland International (OAK) matches SFO at $45 for the same parking-and-walk-in reason. Request the service at booking so the chauffeur arrives with time to park before you clear the jetway.

- Is Meet-and-Greet at SFO free?
- No. San Francisco International does not allow curbside standing, so baggage-claim meet-and-greet requires the chauffeur to park in the hourly garage and walk in. That service is $45 at SFO. Curbside arrivals-level pickup remains included in the transfer rate.
- How much does a chauffeur from SFO to Silicon Valley cost?
- SFO transfers are priced by vehicle class and destination. Point-to-point luxury sedan transfers to Palo Alto, Mountain View or Sunnyvale start in the low-$200 range; Chevrolet Suburban LT and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter transfers are quoted based on party size and luggage. Hourly reservations use published Silicon Valley rates ($130/hr sedan, $150/hr Suburban, $175–$225/hr Sprinter). Every reservation is confirmed in writing with the rate before dispatch.
- Do you monitor flight arrivals in real time?
- Yes. Every SFO arrival is tracked from wheels-up at the origin airport. The chauffeur is redispatched automatically for early or delayed flights. Reasonable timing shifts carry no additional charge; extended tarmac holds may extend to standby billing after the included grace period.
- How long is the wait grace period at SFO?
- Domestic arrivals include 45 minutes of free wait time from actual gate arrival. International arrivals include 60 minutes to account for immigration and customs. Standby beyond the grace window is billed in 15-minute increments at the hourly rate for the reserved vehicle.
- Which terminals do you serve at SFO?
- All four SFO terminals — Terminal 1 (Harvey Milk), Terminal 2, Terminal 3 and the International Terminal. Provide the airline and flight number and dispatch confirms the correct arrivals-level door.
- Do you provide car seats at SFO?
- Yes. Rear-facing infant, forward-facing convertible and belt-positioning booster seats are provided at no additional charge when requested at booking. Confirm the child's age and weight so the correct seat is staged before pickup.
- Can you handle private aviation arrivals at SFO?
- Yes. FBO ramp pickups are coordinated at Signature Aviation SFO, staged to your tail number and wheels-down time. Provide tail number, operator and expected time in the reservation.
- How far in advance should I book an SFO transfer?
- Reserve at least 24 hours ahead to lock in vehicle preference. Same-day and next-morning bookings are accepted subject to availability. Corporate accounts and standing airport runs can be scheduled weeks or months in advance with written confirmations.
- Do you charge extra for early-morning or late-night SFO pickups?
- Standard rates apply around the clock. Late-night pickups between 11:00 PM and 5:00 AM may include a modest overnight surcharge on some vehicle classes; the amount is disclosed on the written quote before you confirm the reservation.
- What forms of payment do you accept for SFO transfers?
- All major credit cards, ACH for corporate accounts and invoiced monthly billing for approved businesses. Gratuity is optional and never automatically added; if included, it is itemized on the receipt.
